Dear Admissions Officer,
Thank you for your interest my application.
I am approaching the mid-way point in the senior year of my collegiate career and am completing my applications for law school. I strongly believe my background in Communication Studies at The College of New Jersey has prepared me for the rigors and expectations of your University. The College of New Jersey has high expectations of all its students, and the Communication Studies department requires many writing intensive courses and large research papers. I continuously study Interpersonal and Organizational Communication, and have taken additional courses in public speaking, public relations and communication research. A paper I have co-authored has been presented at the New Jersey Communication Association conference, as well as the National Communication Association conference in San Francisco.
Not only have I been an active student academically, but I also have been involved in organizations at the College, including Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society and the Order of the Gold Lion. I have spearheaded events such as Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, workshops, lectures, fund raising for my organizations and more. I have developed great time management skills, which are necessary when juggling classes, a part-time job, many organizational responsibilities and personal health and wellness.
Between my internship for NJ State Senator Shirley Turner and my time in Turkey, both of which you can read about further in my portfolio, my interest in International and Environmental law stems from experiences that have proven just how important these areas have become. In the global community the world is developing today, the need for sharp legal minds has never been stronger.
Please, continue to explore my virtual portfolio. You may contact me at any time here. Thank you for your time and interest.
Sincerely,
Hannah P.
